Ellie Mae Expands Technology and Operations Team
Company enlists technology experts to handle growth and build next generation systems
PLEASANTON, CA – NOVEMBER 16, 2011 – Ellie Mae® (NYSE Amex: ELLI), a leading provider of automation solutions for the residential mortgage industry, today announced that it has expanded its data center operations team by engaging three new technology and infrastructure experts. These experts, whose backgrounds include executive level experience with companies such as Charles Schwab, NetApp and Sprint, have been enlisted to manage data center operations and lead the company’s effort to design and build its next generation of application delivery systems.
“We are building a world-class infrastructure in order to support our rapidly growing base of SaaS customers,” said Jonathan Corr, who was recently appointed as the company’s chief operating officer. “Our infrastructure is a critical part of our operations. We have more than 20,000 mortgage professionals using SaaS versions of Encompass® software. That is 190% more users than we had in the beginning of 2010, and represents approximately 170,000 loans in process at any one time. As a leading provider of technology and software for our industry, we are committed to staying ahead of the curve and the team that we have assembled reflects that commitment.”
Ellie Mae's new team of experts includes Karen Paratore, Gene Bowen and Marina Levinson. Paratore, who will manage day-to-day operations of the data center, is an information technology executive with over 15 years of experience managing data center operations at Charles Schwab and other high transaction volume organizations with zero tolerance for downtime.
Bowen, who will be responsible for designing and building the next generation data center and infrastructure technology for Ellie Mae, has over 20 years of experience in information technology and specializes in advanced networking design and technologies. His career includes work as a technology executive at Levi Straus and Sprint, and as a network design consultant, where he led design teams to help businesses develop enterprise-class, industry standard application delivery systems. Levinson, the founder and CEO of executive advisory firm CIO Advisory Group and the former CIO of NetApp and Palm, will work with Limin Hu, Ellie Mae’s chief technology officer, to oversee the company’s data center transformation efforts and help recruit a world-class CIO.
“We have seen incredible adoption of not only Encompass, but also all of the functionality and services available within Encompass that help our clients realize greater efficiencies and control,” said Corr. “With the unprecedented volume of compliance changes our industry faces, our clients need greater speed, capacity and accessibility than ever before. All of our short-term and long-term plans are centered around providing these advantages to our clients. The team that we have assembled has a proven track record of doing just that.”
