Ellie Mae Creates New Banker Division in Response to Continued Strong Growth in Banking Segment

Company promotes Jeff Benjamin to vice president of sales to lead Banker Division

Dublin, CA—January 11, 2007—Ellie Mae, an award-winning provider of innovative software and services for the mortgage industry, has announced the addition of a Banker Division within the company. This new division will focus exclusively on Ellie Mae's sizable and growing base of banker and lender clients and partners.

Ellie Mae's current client base includes over 3,000 mortgage bankers, a number which is sure to grow with the recent launch of Encompass® Banker Edition, the banking version of Ellie Mae's award-winning Encompass loan origination solution, as well as Encompass Custom Edition, a highly configurable version of Encompass. Encompass Banker Edition has already been adopted by two dozen companies since its launch in late October 2006.

Jeff Benjamin, the company's director of sales, has become vice president of the newly created Banker Division and will report to Joe Langner, Ellie Mae's chief operating officer. Benjamin's role will focus on business development efforts among wholesale lenders and bankers, which includes the promotion of Encompass Banker Edition and Encompass Custom Edition, as well as the full suite of Ellie Mae's connectivity solutions for the wholesale banking community.

Encompass Banker Edition was designed to best meet the needs of Ellie Mae's banker customer base. "In an effort to provide a comprehensive solution within the banking niche, we worked with our banker customers to build out the back-end functionality of underwriting, secondary, closing, funding and shipping," explains Langner. "With Encompass Banker Edition, we've released what we expect to become the dominant solution in the banking segment, much in the way that Encompass has taken over the broker segment."

Encompass Banker Edition was launched in late October 2006 at the MBA Annual Convention and Encompass Custom Edition was released in December 2006. The award-winning Encompass Mortgage Automation System has been deployed by over 15,000 companies and is used by over 135,000 users. It is currently estimated to have over 30 percent share of the loan origination system market.
